Party Store Calls Utah home

When Bob Zurcher made the move to Salt Lake City, Utah in 1996 he brought along with him his Party & Wedding stores. Only a short ten years later his stores have become the party supply destination throughout the beehive state.

"We work tirelessly to make sure we have the most up-to-date products," stated Zurcher. "The best products at the best prices day in and day out has been the key in attracting Utah's population."

Although the store started in Boise, Idaho Zurcher now calls Utah the corporation's home. As of now Utah is home to four retail locations, the corporate office, and the new zurchers.com division.

Crepe Paper Streamers for Real Salt Lake

Zurchers Party & Wedding Store teams up for the third consecutive year with Real Salt Lake.

Streamers have been a part of professional soccer for a long time. Fans everywhere load up with streamers in their team colors anticipating the moment they will be able to throw them onto the field in celebration. To add to the excitement at Real's soccer games the team has purchased streamer cannons. These cannons shoot mini-streamers into the crowd every time Real scores a goal.

This will be the third year in a row Zurchers is helping the Salt Lake community by donating crepe paper streamers to Utah's only Major League Soccer team. Bob Zurcher, President of Zurchers, commented "Anyone who has taken their family to a Real game has felt the excitement in the stands, hopefully we are able to add to that excitement and atmosphere with our streamer donations."

Streamers on a soccer field symbolize goals, success and victory. "We hope Real Salt Lake has great success this year and gives us the opportunity to supply as many streamers as possible," stated Zurcher.

Zurchers Joins With UtahBrides.com

Begining March 1, 2007 Zurchers Party & Wedding Stores joined with UtahBrides.com in an effort to better serve the brides in Utah. Now when brides search the UtahBrides.com website they can view Zurchers information page, or quickly be linked to Zurchers.com. In doing this, we hope to reach a broader demographic of customers. We also hope to help brides by making the plannning of their wedding easier and more enjoyable.

Zurchers Targets Utah and Idaho Brides

When we started thinking about ways we could improve our business this year we targeted our wedding sales. We have always offered wedding supplies in our stores, but we have never really marketed to Utah and Idaho brides specifically. Our lack of marketing in the past left us a huge window to work with as we thought about different ways to brand ourselves as a "wedding store."

The first area we have focused on is our website. We decided that it would be hard to convince anyone we are wedding professionals when our website has the look and feel of a party store. We are now creating a website with two completely different faces, one for our party division and the other for our wedding division. The Wedding face will focus on our wedding supplies and services all while providing a look and feel that a bride will trust, elegant and professional, with the same low prices. Our party face will continue to offer the same great services, but without the wedding supplies. There will be a button on the left side of each face to switch between the different themes.

The most exciting function of our wedding site is the ability to create and purchase custom wedding invitations online! You can walk through the process of selecting the fonts, the colors, the styles, and the invitations from your own home. Then you can see your invitation proof within seconds!

To offer the best service to our customers we will be putting a computer in each or our wedding sections. The computers will have a high-speed internet connection which will allow them to create their invitations in our store with one-on-one help.

We look to have this service complete mid-April.

Party Store Opens in Orem, Utah

On November 1, 2006 Zurchers Party Store opened its doors for the first time in Utah County. The store is located at 340 E. 800 S. in Orem, Utah (just over a block north of the University Mall on State Street). Inside the party and wedding store you will find over 12,000 square feet of retail space, which houses over 15,000 different items for your party needs. As soon as you step foot inside you will be impressed with the bright colors and the overall look of the store.

Looking for a good deal on your Wedding Invitations? Zurchers is now offering in-store credit when you purchase your custom wedding invitations in one of their retail locations. After you purchase your invitations Zurchers gives 20% of the total cost as in-store credit. i.e. if your invitations come to $200, you will recieve $40 to spend in the store however you want. This offer makes purchasing wedding invitations at Zurchers a must. With a wide selection of wedding guest books, serving kits, albums, garters, toasting glasses and other essentials you can't afford to buy your wedding supplies anywhere else.

The Beginning of the Party Posts

Well here it goes... the beginning of the Zurchers Merchandise Co. Blog. As a company Zurchers has decided to begin posting and keeping record publicly of the events happening within the party and wedding supply industry. My name is Dallas and I will be the one keeping you filled in on all the hype. In addition to the industry updates I will be writing about the different steps Zurchers is taking as a company; whether it be finding better ways to meet their customers' needs or opening more stores to feed the hungry market.

Zurchers Party & Wedding Stores are located in Idaho and Utah with six retail locations (in the future I hope to write a brief history of each location). The company is privately owned and operated with the original owner continuing to lead the company forward.
